Eligibility Screening and Assessment Coordination Program provides a holistic approach for area seniors in determining the level of need for Older Americans Act services.

Family Caregiver Support Program provides complete and current information about resources available to assist family caregivers. The program provides family caregiver training, peer support and counseling to help families cope with the emotional and physical stresses associated with caregiving. Support services are available for caregivers of a person with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders. Seniors who are raising children may be eligible for support services through the Family Caregiver Support Program.

Information and Referral Assistance Program guides individuals through finding the services they need, assisting them with long-term care planning and explaining eligibility for services.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for residents in long-term care facilities. Ombudsmen investigate any complaint and advocate on the resident’s behalf to resolve the complaint to the resident’s satisfaction. The Long Term Care  Ombudsman Program sponsors Volunteer Ombudsman who greet and visit with residents at facilities on a regular basis. The volunteers help to educate residents and families on residents’ rights.

State Health Insurance Assistance Program provides health insurance counseling for Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Savings Program, Medicare Advantage Plans and Senior Medicare Fraud Awareness.

GetCareSC is an information and referral program for seniors and adults with disabilities living in South Carolina. The web-based search tool can assist consumers, caregivers, family members and professionals in identifying agencies and programs that offer the services needed in your community.
